Untitled by Ralph Hagar

like a sheet of torn paper
sound has a voice
the cry of hawk
there is nothing here
except the chill
of God touching sky
music on the lake
scrub words from the roof
my mouth
I pace water's edge
wanting to walk across
while cicadas caress the air
I watch the sun's back
as I leave to spend time
in the arms of the desert.
