The Run by Ralph Hager

the red brick buildings look as much alike as they sound
the people inside watch the same TV shows with different
clothes on
they think they are unique and they are
until they begin to talk with their TV's
they look at the shows as if each were a slice of life
and their own lives are just as preposterous
so mostly they have forgotten to laugh
and lose themselves in TV fantasies
idolize cartoon characters as heroes
who know much more about life
TV people know how hopeless reality is
they never come out of their shows
