Refraction by Jesse Gonzales

He hides behind a rubber mirror
of convex structures
Curiosity lingers
at the tip of his tongue
Knowledge tastes like hunger
He is a good man who sees life
through the eyes of a bad person
Speaks in a language
difficult to master
He chases desires
but grasps only whispers
Asteroids leave craters
of tears filled with lies
Rain bubbles black
rainbows into polluted dreams
His heart stops
He takes his first breath
